GDPR Specialist

Brussels, Belgium
Our client is looking for a GDPR specialist to support the DPO in operational tasks.
 
  • Support the DPO in maintaining the Register of Data Processing Activities (identifying stakeholders in relevant departments, conducting interviews with stakeholders, providing necessary guidance to filling in and updating the data processing activities)
  • Perform GAP analysis based on the ROPA (assessments to be performed, transfers to be checked by security, missing DPA’s, etc.)
  • Raise awareness, develop training materials and provide training to employees on privacy related obligations
  • Assist Customer Support Team in responding to Data Subject Requests, addressing and escalating privacy, security or fraud issues to the DPO
  • Together with IT Security Team investigate Data Breaches, analyze risks to Data Subjects, take necessary actions and follow-up on action plant to address the vulnerabilities
  • Review Data Processing Agreements and negotiate with vendors
  • Review GDPR Questionnaire filled in by vendors and provide advice to Business
  • Support Business in performing DPIA and follow up on risk mitigating measures
  • Perform TIA and follow up on risk mitigating measures
  • Provide GDPR advice on marketing, sales, IT and other matters
  • Perform GDPR analysis of new partnerships (analyse legal ground of data processing, GDPR roles of partners, data flows, etc.)
  • Support business in implementation of action plan identified as a result of internal or external GDPR audit
  • Support the DPO in drafting and rolling out the Privacy Coordinators Program
  • Assist in implementation of the Privacy Automation Tool
Skills
  • University education or equivalent (Legal, IT, business), additional certifications or qualifications in data protection or privacy (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPIM) are a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data protection compliance.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the applicable data protection laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Belgian data protection framework as well as the relevant EU guidelines (EDPB, ENISA, …)
  • Good knowledge in IT systems, processes and data management practices.
  • Experience of working in the energy sector is a plus.
